So I went through two rounds of interviews for this position, and he send this on Friday. (Earlier in the week he also mentioned how I left a really good impression) Is it just me or does it feel like maybe her knows something but can't say much due to formalities?

"I just wanted to let you know that the last of the Desktop Support Engineer interviews takes place this afternoon.  Unfortunately I won't be back to the office until Monday morning to action any next steps.

You have made a really good impression, and I have everything crossed for a successful outcome for you!  So that we don't lose any more time, my manager, [NAME REDACTED], may be in touch if he hears who the preferred candidate is later today.  

I will pick back up with you again on Monday.
