I just had an interview with a huge hotel chain and even though I got selected in the preliminaries, I almost fudged it.
The executive chef and HR manager were SCARY. I'm 23, I'm not supposed to call people scary but the chef had an aura of "you are nothing to me" and it kinda made me freeze.
Trust me, I'm not nervous about talking to people or speaking in public. I've spoken on stage to 300 people with no issues. It's the MENACING people who are out there to dissect my knowledge that scare me.
I forgot basic facts, forgot basic common sense when I started the interview, and since it's a job for the kitchen, I NEED to show that I know about cuisine. My mouth just turned into a word factory and sent words flying out, even saying some really unprofessional stuff.
Any advice to control my brain from spiralling, and making that connection between my mind and mouth will be appreciated! I can't control my nerves๐ญ
