I’ve heard of someone going on 10 interviews before getting a job! What’s the maximum number of interviews you’ll go through?
The one and only time I interviewed for a job five different times — only to not get the job — convinced me that I don’t want to work for people who had no problem wasting their own time (lawyers paid by the hour, no less!) as well as mine.
All of my job interviews considered, the number of interviews has been inversely proportionate to the number of job offers I’ve received. The worst was when I temped at an assignment for three weeks, and they still “weren’t sure” and wanted me to go through the whole interview process. Fortunately, my three weeks there convinced me I didn’t want the job.
Three interviews max for me now. If they want me, they have — or should have — all the info they need to make their decision.
Edit to clarify.
