I feel a little like Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me if You Can because I don't have any experience, but I want to do the job (not by lying tho lol). Here goes:
I have an upcoming interview for a part time Librarian Assistant II position. I did 20 years in the military in Aircraft Maintenance (I'm a woman btw). I don't know if this is just one of those mandatory interviews because the job I applied for is for the county library system and they have Veteran Preference clause. The pay is low and it's part time, so I really don't know who else might be interviewing. There are a ton of older people where I live (Florida) who may have applied just to get out of the house.
Within my military career I was a technical school instructor for 4 years, and an augmented first sergeant. I also have a bachelor's. I believe those experiences have cross related skills, as well as using and maintaining the database for entering maintenance that was performed on aircraft.
After my career I did a year as a Technical Writer and Editor for a defense contractor. I didn't interview for that job because the hiring manager knew me and just hired me on my resume alone.
I know I can use ChatGPT, etc, to get the jist of interview questions. I also asked on the r/Librarian sub but my question did not get posted. (There was no rejection message) I'm assuming there will be some STAR questions.
If you have any pointers please send them my way. I haven't interviewed for a job.... basically in years. I don't need this job but I want this job.
