I went to my first pride parade in NOLA today. I wore an intersex flag to the parade on top of my pride clothing. I didn't see anything else or anyone with intersex gear or otherwise on. During the parade a group of people were pulling a wagon sponsored by one of the local hospitals. One woman saw my intersex flag, reached into a box, and ran up to me. She handed me a hand made bracelet with in the style of the intersex flag. I immediately started crying. She had this ready and was just waiting to give to someone. My struggles have always been difficult, just like all of us. But in that single moment, I felt love, acceptance, and validation from a complete stranger. I hope where ever she is, she's knows that this meant more to me than anything. The LGBTQ community can be so loving, it's unbelievable
