I (18 ftm, USA) wasn't sure where to post this, but I'm deeply frustrated and disturbed and now extremely suspicious. I've suspected I'm intersex for a while, so I requested my medical records from the hospital (dm me if you want the name, but it's a hospital about 45 minutes away from/south of Boston, Massachusetts) I was born at, and I got them in the mail today, except there's one thing missing: the records from the first two years of my life. I called the hospital just now and they said they keep their records for 19-20 years. I said, "okay, then where are my birth records? I just turned 18 three months ago." The lady, who was very nice, apologized and said she would continue looking, and also offered to try and find film footage from when I was born, "if there was any."
I know some of, if not most of y'all, have had similar problems with hospitals "losing" your birth records. So, what steps should I take now?
Update: So, I just received a call from the hospital in question, and the very nice lady I spoke with yesterday said she found the film of my birth records and that she mailed it out to me and I should get it within a week!
