It’s a charged question indeed. I am a White Women who has been dating a Black Man for almost a year but have known him for 7 years as a Best Friend. I am White but my parents are both Mexicans, so I am a bit different(?) man I don’t think that even matters. Anyways, we have been best friends since High School and were always close, he was in love ever since he met me and I kind of always knew but I am not very…interested in romance as I was with academics 😅 He confessed but respected me when I declined the first time, and afterwards had two failed relationships, again confesses to me and claims that he just can’t help but still love me. And this was recent, of course I have grown my Emotional Intelligence more at that point and started liking him. So of course I said “I like you too” and we have since started dating. Now I have known for years that he likes Snow Bunnies, and thinks Black Women are Loud and Ghetto (I have attacked him for this). So it is clear he has a preference although, It feels…racist? Man I love him so much and he means the world to me but I don’t know if he loves me or my skin. What can I say or ask to find out?
