Mom, dad. I have another question about a company.
Working with dogs is my passion and I have a ton of experience in literally all the sections of it. I went to an interview last month and the manager just kept telling me how impressed with me he was and how impressed with all my experience he was. He literally ensured me that I would get a call for a second interview (working interview). I sent a thank you note as well as an email stating that I was grateful for the opportunity, that I loved their facility, and that I hoped I would get to be part of the team. So, the day I was supposed to get a phone call came and went. The next day, I called just to check in and was told the manager was on lunch but would call back. Okay, that's fine. He never called back. About 3 weeks after the interview, I decided to call again just to ask kind of.. what was going on and I was told that they "went with someone more qualified". I was really surprised because it didn't make sense to me, though, the manager and I DID speak about my disabilities and accommodations during the interview. Due to the fact that I have so much experience and knowledge, I felt like the reason why they chose someone else was because I do work with a service dog. I was a little irritated, but I moved on.
So, that brings me to today. I get an interview request on indeed and I see it's for a doggy daycare and I accept it and then I find out that it's the place that had interviewed me first then went with someone more qualified! I'm going to go because this is a dream job regardless, but would this be a red flag? What are questions I should ask? I already emailed to ask if this would be a working interview which they have not responded yet.
Sooooo.. I dunno. On one hand, I hate that they passed me up the first time just to call me back in. On the other hand, I want this job because it's something I'd love doing and could reasonably do.
I've only ever had this happen twice before with different circumstances in a different industry and i didn't go through with them.
