I cancelled my haircut appointment…what should I do to repair the relationship with my stylist?
Post Body

I had to cancel my haircut appointment with my favorite stylist. I previously had about 4-5 cuts with them and they have been the best I have ever had! I usually tip generously and have always been early. But I had to cancel just 2 hours before my last haircut due to an emergency/conflict.

Afaik the place has no cancellation fee/policy and they were happy to make an appointment for a later time. I said I’d call back because i was embarrassed.

I am worried the stylist will be mad at me for canceling (and therefor wasting their time—and by extension, money) and that next time they will not give me such a great cut. And that they wont be as friendly anymore.

What can I do to reassure my stylist that it won’t happen again, it was a one time thing, I’m sorry, and that I’m a good customer that deserves a good cut?

Is it inappropriate to give them an extra $25-30 when I say hello at the beginning of my next cut? (Haircuts there cost $40, i often tip 15-20 because they are very good cuts)

Should I give an amazon gift card or is that extremely weird?

Just apologize and otherwise pay normal for the next haircut, maybe tip extra at the end?

Help! What should I do/how should I conduct myself after cancelling a haircut?
