Help!!!!! I am having to move into a rented house at short notice & it needs modernising on a budget. Any quick fixes?

As the tittle says I have to move next month & the interior is out of date & there are a lot of teak wooden furniture. The carpets are pretty old looking but clean & the sofa is a bit dated. Is it just a case of painting the walls & throw overs & maybe a rug? I have no idea to be honest where to start & if I can even improve the look on a really low budget? I can feel it making me miserable before I even move in......help!!!!!!
