For the first time in my life, I'm planning the interior decoration for my home. I'm intending to paint one or more of the walls in my living room and kitchen/diner blue (shade is TBD, but there's an example in the pictures) but, as the title says, I can't decide whether to paint the entirety of the rooms or to pick a feature wall.
Kitchen/diner
I think the obvious wall to turn into a feature wall would be at the top, however the French doors means there's very little wall to paint and most of it would be hidden by curtains so I don't think that would work. I also think the other walls don't lend themselves to becoming feature walls and so I would expect to paint the whole room.
Living room
For the living room, I'm inclined to paint the whole room (option 1) so it matches the kitchen/diner, but if I made one of the walls into a feature wall, I can't decide whether it would be the wall behind the sofa (option 2) or the wall behind the TV (option 3).
Compared to option 3, option 2 has the advantage of drawing the eye from the hallway and when you first walk into the room but you won't typically see it when sat in the living room.
Option 3 draws the eye once your sat in the room but I was planning on having plants to either side of the TV stand and maybe some paintings on the wall so I wonder whether it would be too visually cluttered if it's also a feature wall.
