Post Body

I tried on /r/buildapc and all anyone wants to do is sell me an AMD processor, so was hoping to get a bit of a wider eye here. Thank you very much for any thoughts!

Some notes:

  • Definitely gonna stick with Intel and Nvidia
  • Not very price sensitive; I'd rather spend an extra $20-50 on a part for peace of mind on things like the PSU or motherboard than find myself wanting later
  • After paying for overclocking parts in my past two systems, it's not for me, hence the non-K processor. Apparently enabling the boost mode on that would be sufficient from what I read? But if the K would provide better baseline power even with the boost mode thing, I don't mind springing for it
  • I like full tower cases even though it's clearly overbuying for this system as it is now
  • Don't worry about storage, I'll be dropping in extra drives whenever, what's posted is the OS drive for Windows 10
  • I do want Wifi and Bluetooth built in on my motherboard
  • GPU will be a 3080 once it's released
  • Monitors are the biggest question mark here by far. Was aiming for 1440p 144hz but nothing set in stone, dropped in a couple that matched that
