I'm in need of some advice. A few years back I exited the trade with the intention of going back to school. However, life happened and now I'm thinking of getting back into it. I have some second thoughts now though, reason being is I have been away from the trade for just about two years now.
Have any of you techs ever left the trade for an amount of time? Did you have issues getting back into it? I'm half afraid I've forgotten the skills required to complete jobs, and knowledge for troubleshooting problems.
Any advice would be excellent.
I left for about a year travelling and partying when i was 21. Right in between 3rd and 4th year
Came back and went straight to school, didnt have to many issues finding work but the patch in alberta was still booming then ( about 2012)
Definately forgot a few things but after a month or 2 it all came back. The beauty thing about our trade is you can usually call someone or just figure most maintenance things out after looking at it logically
