For reference, I have a 6 quart Instant Pot Pro.
I had finished dinner and turned off the Instant Pot completely about 15 minutes prior to when the high pitched sound began.
The main pot was removed entirely and the lid was off.
It’s hard to describe the noise, but it sounded like a slightly quieter version of our carbon monoxide alarm…
Just a really high pitched alarm type ringing. The kind of ringing that you can still hear in your ears hours later.
Once I realized where the noise was coming from, I quickly attempted to hit the cancel button, and when nothing happened I started pressing a couple more buttons, but no luck. In the end I just ended up unplugging it directly from the outlet.
I didn’t see any burn or error messages of any sort, and after multiple failed Google searches, welp – here I am!
Any ideas of what might have happened and/or what to do to prevent it from happening again?
