Hypnotic or Benzo stomach problems?
Post Body

Just wondering if anybody has had stomach issues with medications that fall under either category mentioned above? I want to start by saying I know this oddly specific. So I got switched recently to Ambien CR from Lunesta and come to find out I like Lunesta more but Ambien CR is more convenient for time like getting to sleep and not lasting too long so I don’t get a hangover feeling (but still too short so I don’t get more than 6 hours of sleep). Whereas Lunesta lasted long enough but I feel like death when I wake up but I’m better rested. I wanted to mention that to explain more about why I probably won’t go back on Lunesta as well as this next part. So I’ve got this weird issue with Lunesta where I get sick to my stomach when I take it multiple says I a row. The best way to describe it is I feel like my stomach is coated and I can also feel it in my throat. Sometimes I’ll throw up because of it. The reason I say it’s oddly specific is because this happens with only white benzos or hypnotics. I was on Ativan a long time ago and the same thing happened, it was a white pill. I was on Ambien (regular instant release) the same thing happened and now recently with Lunesta too which is also a white pill. For a second I thought I was making this up until I realized when I first got on Lunesta (1mg) it was blue and I was fine but when I switched to 2mg and it was a white pill I started happening again. Now that I’m one Ambien CR (blue) I’m completely fine. My doctor suggested maybe I’m allergic to a colorant in white pills but I’ve taken other medications in the form of white pills and I’ve been fine. I know that sounds really strange and I’ve tried to find any other reason why I’d feel that way but every time I take a sedative in white pill form I get that weird “coated”, queasy stomach discomfort. But anyway anybody else have stomach issues with sleep sedatives?
