I am a 41 year old male & I used Insanity around 5 years ago to shed some weight before I joined a gym & started lifting weights. Previous to lockdown I were bulking & I had started to cut by being in a calorie deficit & cardio at the Gym. When they closed the Gyms here in the UK I dug out my old Insanity DVD's. I was a bit rusty & not as fit as I thought I was but I have now completed the workout apart from missing out the Cardio Recovery, Rest, Fit Test & Core Cardio. I basically just wanted to use the program to shed some weight which I have done. Some days I have been running month 2 workouts twice per day. For example Max cardio conditioning then Max Interval Plyo enabling me to burn around 1000 cals in one session. Fantastic for weight loss & I am now down to my target weight.
I am now considering running the full program again including all the workouts but at maintenance / slight surplus to see if I can add a little mass in combination with the free weights that I have in my garage. Has anyone had any experience of running the program at a deficit then switching to a surplus & if so what was your experience?
