Looking for help with father’s inheritance…
Post Body

First, thanks for reading, the last few months have been rather crazy and I appreciate any help people are willing to give. Now onto business. My father passed away about 6 months ago in a sudden motorcycle accident. In his passing, after selling his house and many other assets, he left me about 150k. I’m really not sure what to do with this. A little about me. I’m a 22 year old transgender woman. I dropped out of college at 19 with about 8k left in debt. I would maybe like to go back eventually, not sure exactly for what or when though. I do have a little bit of credit card debt and accounts in collections totaling roughly 5k that I would like to pay off right away to build my credit back up (current score is sitting at high 500’s low 600’s) as well as some back rent from dealing with this whole process (about 3k). I want to set myself up for success with this money. I’m not sure exactly how to use this but I know I want to be smart. It would be really cool if I could use some of this money to help my transition as well. Idk, maybe somehow set myself up to start getting some passive income. Like I said, I’m really not sure. As of right now, I plan on just leaving it in a 4% apy savings account. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
