I (ENTP, male) recently started seeing an INFP enby and we’ve had two or three occurrences of honest misunderstandings that have seemed to really bother them. We’ve addressed it quickly every time, been pretty quick to find the breakdown in communication, and I’ve acknowledged my own misunderstandings and apologized for the way it’s made them feel on two separate occasions. Even so, every time they seem to get distraught & really beat themselves up as the tough conversations come to a close, blaming their own flaws and mistakes for the breakdown. Is this fairly expected? Is there any way I can help assure them that everything is still ok, 3ven though the process was a little tough?
