Use InfluxDB as a Cache only and don't store anything to the disk
Post Body
Hi!
I'm using a very short retention policy: 5 to 10 seconds. Right now I'm not 100% certain on the definitive value, but it won't be much larger than that since I'm using the real time data to run some algorithms and storing the actual result in a "regular postgress" DB.
My main concern here is IO usage, so that's why I'm trying to avoid disk storage for the data coming to Influx.
Is there a way to do so? I've seen some data about write engines for 2.0 and upwards, but I'm using 1.8v since the Rust API I'm using wouldn't work with 2.0 versions.
Thanks in advance! I'm very new to influx
