There is plenty of blame to go around in the inflation game. Trump said to Biden on national TV that the story of the next presidency would be inflation. One of trumps biggest successes was Steve Mnuchin and he seemed to make the right choices to temper inflation. The Democrats drive to raise earnings is a big factor and obviously fuel prices is the major issue.
With that said, it would be incredibly easy to fix the issue. Raising interest rates is an old wives tail and adding expense to families hurt by inflation is a double whammy.
The government has the ability to cap fuel prices at $X. The government could pick up the adjustment and stabilize the price at the pump. Fuel prices drive everything: food on the shelf, travel, small business, logistics, every day travel, etc. This one change could temper inflation more than 4 rate increases.
How amazing would it be to have a functioning government with people on the cutting edge of knowing how to handle adversity?
