Post Body

I was using Dunu Titan S before i pulled the trigger and bought S12 pro. I actually wanted to buy standard version but the seller on aliexpress (angelears audio store) upgraded me to pro version in exchange for a review (not here but on aliexpress).

All that for 137 usd. Can't say i'm mad about it now. At first listen i was like "why the fuck i bought IEMs that sound exactly as the ones i have?!". Then i started doing A/B compare and suddenly found that Titan S just doesn't reproduce some tones. Especially ones in bass region. maybe more sub bass. And bass felt... artificial. It was present but not full. Like someone cut everything out except the first hint that there will be bass - a trailer for bass, if you will.

Then mids. Seems like i prefer a bit recessed vocals as i got nearly starled when switching to Dunus. Dunu felt like vocals are right in my face, while on s12 pro it was more gentle. Still clean, understandable vocals, just on covid safety distance.

I was scared about this one, as some people said that s12 has harsh treble. Now, there are two things possible here: either i'm not treble sensitive or they calmed treble on pro version. To me, it is soft and I could listen to treble heavy music without a problem. No amount of cymbals or hi-hats made me fatigued or irritated. Not even Axl Rose sounded harsh. I listened to blues with lots of sax in it - no problemo.

To me, S12 pro sounds like i'm listening to live music, while Dunu Titan S is more... unnatural to me.

I'm not going to go into technical stuff too much, just mention what i noticed at first glance: in fast songs, like Through the fire and flames, i don't have to strain myself to recognise there are lots of fast notes. On Titan S you could hear there is something going on but not enough to discern every tone. S12 pro is warmer but nothing extreme. considering that Titan S is pretty neutral, it's hard to not be warmer. Positioning where each instrument is was easier on S12 pro. Soundstage is similar but in some songs it felt more intimate (Sound of silence by Disturbed) on S12 pro
