Rising sophomore with 3.2 GPA looking for internship/co-op, what should I do?

Post Body

I know I should be applying right now but I only have a 3.2 GPA with almost no IE courses yet.

I also graduate early so I pretty much only have one summer left.

In terms of experiences, I have a few non-tech leadership positions in clubs and mini-projects as part of my courses.

Has anyone had any luck getting internships with similar GPA/experiences? I know my changes are slim so what should I do?

Also is it better to apply after I get my first semester GPA for next year, which will be in January, which is quite late?

Thank you!

I'm pretty sure that there will be no more internship openings for the Fall 24 semester anymore. Either the candidates are already selected or last stage interviews are going on. You're already too late for Aug-Dec internships.

How do you know whether there's been or not any IE classes yet? Nobody else can judge that either, since you haven't named any of the classes.

Best course of action at this point would be to focus on Jan25-May25 internships you can find. But, also apply for any roles you see for Fall 24 term.

My grad degree has only one course in it with IE initials.

A better thing to do would be to edit the post and mention what courses you've been through. Quality systems is an important course and might be under something else.

Also remember, nobody expects you to know stuff. A good understanding of what you've learnt till now is more important.
