This is not supposed to hurt anyones feelings this is just something I’m curious about
As a foreigner I’m always learning new things about Indonesia recently I’ve been learning lots about west papua and the history and current situation of the area and was wondering after seeing some videos of people being asked on the street what does the average Indonesian citizen know and think about West Papua as it seems to be out of the consciousness of the average Indonesian
From what I’ve heard West Papua’s seem to be discriminated against in Indonesia for their darker skin tone and are sometimes called monkeys I’ve also heard that the Indonesian government doesn’t care for the Papuans and only use the island for its resources
Please tell me about your experiences with West Papua
