Is House of the Dragons worth watching?

I have watched GOT and the one thing about it was that it was worth the patience. Is the first season of House of the Dragon anywhere close? Should I spend the next week watching remaining episodes of the first season so that I can catch up when season 2 drops? Or watch something else? Edit: House of the Dragon*
