How to be a nurse? I am 25+. Also, considering age, is it worth it?

I want to be a nurse. I am not sure if this is the right sub for this, but maybe you could help?

I didn't take the medical route (PCMB) during high school as I didn't want to be a Doctor.
But I did have some Biology courses during undergrad (science). And those further increased my interest in the subject. Also, I have come to some self realizations and I think nursing would be right for me.*

Do any of you know what route I should follow to get there?

I want to be a good nurse, well qualified and trained with good education. Which colleges should I focus on?

Thank you.

Note/Extra info: >! During my time giving competitive exams I did clear and get rank in JEE Advanced, so I am hopeful and open to study for NEET iff required. !<

* More specifically I am inclined to get into psychiatry side and help people with mental health. I've considered doing psychology, but I feel nursing would be more strong reliable base to branch from.
