Illegal school speed zones?

Post Body

slightly provocative title. should probably be "unenforceable" school speed zone. the code/law in Indiana is that for a school speed zone to be enforceable, there has to be an official "ending" point to it. That ending point can either be an "end school zone" sign or another regular speed limit sign.

Westbound Southport Rd by Homecroft Elementary school has no such ending point.

And westbound English Ave by Christian Park School (School 82) also doesn't have one.

(but as I type this, I'm 2nd guesing myself. The other location I wanted to warn about was either School 82 or it's southbound Arlington by Irvington Middle School)

So - if you've been pulled over and cited for speeding in school zone, be sure that it's a legally enforceable school zone and fight it if it's not.
