So I recently went to local toy shops and i struggled to find authentic toys and not the off brands. I'm not seeing toys from Mattel, hasbro, etc. as much anymore. i spotted maybe just about 20-30 toys that were authentic. When i was young, those shops were filled authentic toys and not off brand chinese toys.
When i checked toys on Amazon india, the authentic toys were extremely expensive compared to their actual price. hasbro toys were not unreasonably expensive but the others were. When i was younger i could get them even less than a 1000 rupees but only a few were less than a thousand now.
I think that toy companies have 'stopped' supplying india with their toys and that's why the prices are huge and those toys are rare to find. Also off brand toys can be dangerous because it has been found that some use cheap toxic chemicals.
Forgot to add, disney toys seem to be about the same price as other countries so I think disney does export to india
