Post Body

So, by the extreme grace of God, I finally landed my first job offer I will be joining after completion of my B.Tech and was hoping to relax for a while now, seek help for mental health, pick up some hobbies etc, basically take it easy for a while. However, the contract states that there is a 6 month probation period. I wasn't aware that this is a thing. How hard am I expected to work in a probation period? Is it just a formality or do companies actually fire you if you don't do well? I was finally hoping to relax after continuous grinding for some 6 years now, with competitive exams, interviews etc. But is this probation period like another 6 months of constant pressure, stress and uncertainty?
