I'm a bsc EVS student in a deemed university in our country. I feel like our system of education is so much inclined towards the marks obtained from the exams and not the skill or the quality of education that a student gets. My exams are coming soon and I feel really pressurized. I had online classes for the past semester and it was really disappointing. I felt like teachers doesn't even care about the quality of education I get. The classes where so much irregular and because of that I used to miss some of the classes.
I'm also pissed at the fact that we don't have many subjects to choose between in the optional subject. I have the core subjects which I'm okay with. The subject which I'm not okay with is English literature. I have English grammer which is a core subject and I like it too. When the course started, I had only option to choose between English literature and a local language which I have no exposure to. So I was forced to take English literature. I don't hate English literature. Its just that I don't want to learn William Wordsworth's sister's name or when E V Lucas was born. I took EVS to learn EVS and the subjects which I feel like builds my career. And English literature is definitely not one of them. And I have no offence to anyone who wants to study literature btw. It's just that I should have the privilege to choose the subject which I'm fond of.( My department has many different kinds of subjects)
My class teacher is also not supportive. I have messeged this problem with him which he saw and never replied.
Also, I'm a first year student.
