Has anyone done their Indian passport renewal recently?

My passport expires in June 2024 and I recently filled the online application for its renewal. The BLS website doesn’t have any dates available for online appointment booking.

I’m a little confused about the whole process. I’m an international student and have a doubt regarding the Canadian address proof. Is it required for me to submit it and if that’s the case, what are my options?

The google reviews of the BLS centre at Lawrence makes it seem shady for some reason with regards to walk-in appointments.

If anyone’s done their passport renewal recently and can help me understand the process here, please let me know. Would really appreciate any insight.
