Hello People,
I'm slowly but surely losing my mind over here. I currently have to deal with a 200 page document imported from Word, packed with index markers. When I try to generate the index, I am told there were invalid characters in at least one of the indexes; mission abort.
Alright. I've had this before, so I try to weed out the index/-es stirring trouble. I have isolated one of them in a new document.
This is the current situation:

That is one single index in the document. There is nothing obviously wrong with that index, content is simple letters only. Yet it does not work. Manually retyping the index entry could work β does work β sometimes.
I really am at a loss. The problem seems really inconsistent, and all searches of similar problems have been about index entries which have obvious errβ rs in them.
Is there anybody here, who has had similar issues and knows a solution?
//Edit: The file with the index marker can be downloaded here:

//Edit: The urgency of this has declined dramatically, as I "fixed" the issue by spending two hours on first deleting every trace of anything index-related and then manually adding everything again. At least it worked Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
