Hyperlink in linked file not working

I have an InDesign file with a hyperlink in it. It works fine. I can export and it works in the PDF, too. When I link this file to another document, the link no longer works. Any solutions anybody has found? It seems like the document I am linking the file into just does not recognize there is a hyperlink any longer.

Edit: I am linking an InDesign file (with a working hyperlink) to another InDesign file (where it no longer works)
