Even in here and in other places which see incest as just any other form of love, one aspect that I always see that our community having mixed opinions about is if incetuous couples should be able to have children or not.
I myself am very divided in this decision, and wanted to see what you think about. For one side, there's first basically no need to do that, since just like gay couples one could not have a child, adopt, or use artificial methods so the kid has at least one of the parents in their blood. But in the other side, this could not only be a limitation to the freedom of the parents, but also it's not like every inbred child is severely deformed, and it generally only occurs over multiple generations, so a mid ground option could be achieved to only ban inbred children for people who are already inbred themselves.
One could argue that if genetic problems are the issue, than other people with a high change of having deformed child should also be banned of having children. But this is then accused of eugenics, although would it really count? Forcing good genes on kids is different from prohibiting bad ones after all.
Please don't kill each other in the comments 🙃
I support it. My brother and I have a child, and she is perfectly healthy. That said, I do understand the risks that come with inbreeding, and people in incest relationships should know about the risks and take that into consideration when deciding whether or not to have a child. This especially applies for those who have a history of inbreeding in their family already.
