Are asylum applicants(still pending) eligible for NYS real ID? They asked for my I-797 original paper.

I went to the DMV a couple of times, I was told to bring The asylum I-797 FOR status proof along with all other documents (SSN, EAD, name and address proofs) I already provided. The confusing thing is there are different types of I-797. Does this I-797C receipt notice work?
And they told me to bring the original one, download from USCIS is not considered original, I just hope my law firm didn't lose it, they seem impatient with my request.
