I came to the US on the L-1 VISA. They applied for a PERM which I expect will arrive in the next few months. My country of birth is the UK.
My immigration team are saying: "they cannot file my green card until my COB (worldwide category) is current based on my priority date. Right not the worldwide category has retrogressed and is not current for the UK. If this holds true when my PERM arrives, they will need to file the I-140 and wait for me to become current before they can file the GC."
I don't really understand what this means or the timelines as a result. I tried to Google search this and couldn't find much for my VISA type so hoping someone can explain this and point me in the right direction here.
I found this link: https://www.boundless.com/blog/visa-bulletin/#eb3 and assume I fit under the EB3 (as they asked for references from previous managers and I have a Bachelors degree). This just looks like an extra wait time of 4 months which doesn't seem so bad?
