Do Thrustmaster joysticks work with Great Battles and/or 1946?

I'm thinking of buying this cheap thrustmaster https://www.amazon.es/ThrustMaster-USB-Joystick-PC-Mac/dp/B00A8XGF3U/ref=pd_sbs_7/261-7784896-0105604?pd_rd_w=eL1H8&pf_rd_p=073ad75e-0f2f-4e00-af92-a91d92e1e105&pf_rd_r=SHPS3XA2ARKB1YNYC4P7&pd_rd_r=ea2796b9-749c-4dc7-a9c3-8965beac6aef&pd_rd_wg=QreKA&pd_rd_i=B00A8XGF3U&psc=1 to try to see if I like that kind of control (usually I prefer kb m, even for games that are mostly played with gamepads). I don't want to spend a lot on a good joystick until I'm sure I will use it, and this one has good reviews and is relatively cheap.

Are all Thrustmaster joysticks compatible by default with IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 or IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles? If not, what kind of thing should I look for to know if they are compatible?
