Ea1000 alternative ($300 max)

So after all the hype, I decided to get the EA1000. I was first blown away by it, however, I quickly realized that what makes the fermat beautiful is killing my ear. Its quite a shame, but is there another IEM in around that price point (I can go up to $300) that is similar and have a plastic shell?
