This is a particularly interesting idea to me, but it basically comes down to creating a new "mode" of subreddits.
The idea is that upon creating a new subreddit, one enables the RSS-style option and supplies a URL to any RSS feed .xml file on the web. At regularly intervals, the reddit daemon checks the feeds for new feed articles and automatically posts them to the subreddit for users to comment on.
For example /r/slashdot could read http://rss.slashdot.org/Slashdot/slashdot
Obviously the benefit here is the ability to comment on and link to other websites articles without having to post them by hand. Moreover, the rating system would help bring the better articles to the top instead of the sequential view that you might get at a site like slashdot.
Thoughts?
