After I found out that Mystique is just for recreational and I'd need more support after finishing basics, I decided to upgrade. I went to a reputable fitter in the area and he recommended the freestyles and he heat molded them for me as well.
But as soon as I got on the ice it felt like I'd never skated before. Before buying these, i was starting crossovers and was very comfortable going around the rink and doing some two foot spins. One issue is the higher heel on the freestyles and I'm having to put a ton of focus in shifting my weight back and not hitting the toe pick. I'm also getting a ton of pain in my heels and ball when I didn't before, even when learning. It's been about 3 hours of time in them and I can kind of get back to skating with a little speed but I feel no where near the level I was with the Mystiques.
Should I press on with the freestyles or search for another pair? I've heard some people really struggle with the higher heel and I fear I may be one of them. Any advice would be great.
