Post Body

So I’ve had some varying IBS symptoms for the past 5 years including severe constipation, which then turned into a more mixed IBS with going from type 1 to type 5 stool in the same 24 hour time period. Lately I’ve been trying to exercise healthy and gotten a more regular diet which has led to mostly regular, healthy movements and I truly thought I could manage this. However, both this weekend and last I’ve had terrible experiences with having to run to the bathroom with bad diarrhea, something that I’ve never had before except in rare circumstances (type 5/6, light colored). Both times I went out to eat and ate a large meal that I’ve ate before with little to no problems. Except these times, I felt comfortably full until we get back from said restaurant and I immediately start feeling very bad stomach pain and gurgling, to the point of nausea. Then, I rush to the bathroom. The first time I made it in time, the second I didn’t, and it was even worse than the first time. The last time I’ve had this bad control of my bowels was when I had stomach flu as a kid, but this is obviously not that.

I’ve heard of gastrocolic reflex and oftentimes large meals were what lead me out of constipation, but this is so much worse. Could it be a form of this or has anyone had some similar experience? To be more specific, one of these food was a chipotle burrito bowl with the same portions and things I typically get, and the other was just a chicken ranch wrap which isn’t anything out of the ordinary to me.
