I've been offered full funding for a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Iowa State, Virginia Tech, and the University of Minnesota twin cities. As an international student aiming for a career in the aerospace industry, I'd like to know which university and state you think would be the better choice based on your experience.
For a PhD, the chief concern should be which program has the most depth in your area of interest so that you can choose among advisors. Iowa State has a pretty big Aerospace department, as does Virginia Tech. In terms of location, UMN is the best option - it may easier to do internships and visit prospective employers if you want to work in industry.
