I've seen some theories on here suggesting that Croteus Industries manufactures sex dolls. I do think this is probably the case, but I don't think that's why Sophie was herself was created. I think Simon requested the use of Croteus' technology to create a youtube influencer who was perfectly suited to attracting a lot of negativity in order to feed a demonic entity that sustains itself on hate/jealousy/negativity (the hate monster). What better way to generate lots of negative attention than to create a woman who was born into privilege that she takes for granted, who is completely full of themselves despite having no apparent skills beyond being beautiful and rich, and then to give her a huge online platform?

I do still have some questions about Simon's motives, the timeline, and how/why exactly Lara is involved, but this theory seems really plausible to me. What do you guys think?
