This week's challenge is based on a game we play in Romania. The game is called fazan (pheasant), and it is played like this, one person says any word, and then the next person has to say a word that starts with the last two letters of the previous word. The game aims to close your opponents.

The aim of our game is different; you must keep going for as long as possible.

​

Rules:

· You will start with a city whose name begins with A.

· The next city must start with the last two letters of the first city name.

· The third city must start with the last two letters of the second city name.

· You will carry on like this until you reach a letter combination for which you cannot name a city.

E.g. America – Car – Aragon – Ontario – etc.

· If you insert an alternate naming for a city other than what will show on the map, you will use your letters combination, not what is displayed.

e.g. For Hong Kong, we also have the alternate name of Victoria, so if you have to add a city starting with VI and type in Victoria, your next city will have to begin with IA and not NG, as it will be displayed in Hong Kong.

· Cities that start and end with the same two letters in the same order are not permitted. E.g. Papa, Tete, Manama etc.

· The cities must have at least three letters in length

This week's medal criteria are:

· Gold: 400 cities

· Silver: 250 cities

· Bronze: 100 cities

Special flair: This week's special flair will be awarded to the person with the most countries/territories.

If two or more people have the same number, the population will decide who gets the flair.

Competition Rules:

· You must play from memory (no Google or 'every country/state' option).

· Any format of the city name is accepted as long as one of the formats matches the above criteria.

· I would also advise against guessing cities.

Duration:

I will always post the challenges Tuesday evenings at London time. You have one week to submit your results. I will still consider submissions from Wednesday, but you will not be considered for the special flair and IBTM.
