I’ve been pretty ok at other racing games and thought iR looked like a fun step forward and a cheaper / safer alternative to me actually taking up the sport.
After 2 months now and only advancing to a D license. My Sr around 700 for road and 1200 for oval. I’m getting frustrated with myself by not performing better and finishing higher and getting better. I only have my wheel clamped to my desk I’m using books to space my pedals away from the wall and I rock a single 27” monitor. I can’t ever seem to find the sweet spot for lines and braking and just always get caught up trouble. I don’t want to seem like “it wasn’t me” guy but rarley ever am I. I enjoy racing people and fighting position but if I can see a car is faster and I’m holding them up - go ahead take P11 my guy; I’ll move out of the way. I really thought I was going to be better at this game and just kind of breeze my way in and graduate up like most other games. I’m kind of depressed over it now and feel like giving up. I do think I’m a much better oval person than road. But wow. I really do HATE short ovals. Please help motivate me or tell me to sell my wheel.
Ps - do I need to find a community? Discord? A mentor? Chat? I watch videos and I can get within a couple seconds on most tracks - but then the race it just all goes to shit.
