Need some advice from a learning moment that happened tonight in the Fanatec Global Challenge at Lime Rock. Had a terrible start and got wrecked, so had to pit early on in the race and ended up a lap down. However I was running similar pace as the guys mid-pack (5th-7th) in the same class and the relative gaps didn’t change much. Obviously though I’m getting the blue flag and I’m holding my line and not actively blocking. Given how tight Lime Rock is to begin with, there’s not a lot of places to just give way to the guy behind, and in my opinion, is even harder when everyone involved is at roughly the same pace.
Needless to say the guys behind me got very pissy over it and kept saying I needed to yield, but I’m not sure how to have done that safely at a place like Like Rock. Looking to learn and improve. Any advice?
