Iām on a Q2 and have been thinking about posting about this for a while. Since before the S1 update even.
MSI 3060, 5600x, 32 RAM. G923, Quest 2, Link Cable. Will add spec info as needed.
Every first session of the day I check and it has changed back to 200x400, I change it to the 1920x1080 that I figure the headset can (and has) handle(d). That seems like a HUGE difference that should be noticeable, but I honestly canāt see any difference whatsoever. So I donāt know why I even bother. (Itās been pointed out to me that Iām an enormous idiot for this part. This part is solved)
In addition, my HUD likes to move around randomly. Canāt find any pattern to it. And my FPS can be hard locked on 90 fps with lots of bells and whistles turned up, and the full grid, for the entire session, and the next time I load in, even dropping everything to low/off wonāt pull it up from 44 fps. As far as I can tell, none of the settings I change ever result in a visual difference except for the grandstands being there or not being there.
For a while I assumed it was PEBCAK, and spoke pretty highly about the capabilities my relatively modest machinery seems to possess, with a fresh āgoodā session in my memory. Iām beginning to think thereās something that isnāt my fault though.
At first I considered thermal throttling, but MSI informed me after a session with everything turned up that my max GPU temp was 63 and my CPU was 73. Iām no hardware genius, but Iāve been led to believe those are relatively low for a gaming computer of this caliber, especially to be running the level of settings I was.
So wtf is going on here? Iām tempted to do a full reinstall just to see if it knocks anything loose, so to speak.
Perhaps unrelated, and thus added as somewhat of an afterthought, my wheel doesnāt ālockā at the map range Iāve set in neither my G HUB NOR within iRacing. I understand a hard lock with the torque this wheel has wouldnāt actually exist, but the āendā of the map doesnāt feel like the max force of the wheel either.
ETA - I saw something about a pinned thread for VR setup, but I canāt find any pinned threads. Are those only accessible by desktop?
