Shattered my screen.

Dropped my phone down a flight of steps and completely ruined my screen, phone is semi usable and doesn’t seem to have any issues besides the obvious. I didn’t buy the apple care protection, which im kicking myself for at the moment.
What’s the best route to fix it that won’t kill my wallet? Is it something I can order and do myself or is it best to go to a professional?
