How to pull, read, or even mention a file on an iOS or iPadOS with Python?

I’m using a Python IDE on an iPad, and am seemingly unable to write basically any function with a file on my device. Either I’m somehow getting the file path or directory wrong (which I admit is actually likely) or there’s a completely separate library or module I should be using. Any ideas?
