How do I downgrade Xcode?

Is it as simple as deleting Xcode from the Applications folder and installing the version I want? Will I have to reconnect my GitHub? Will it still be connected to App Store for future updates?
Or do I need to comb through ~/Library/Developer and delete everything Xcode related before installing the previous version?
New machine so I'm trying to be extra careful, especially since I don't have Time Machine setup yet.
