I spent a lot of 2020 learning how to code but I guess everyone else did, too. I was finally feeling like I had the chops to apply for a junior dev role and was shocked to see only 5 positions per job site. I guess gone are the days when building a Reddit clone on Rails could land you a $60k/yr junior role.
I was watching Mayuko's YouTube channel and she was talking about how iOS dev has a higher barrier to entry since you need at least a MacBook Pro (although I'm sure you could get by with a MBA M1), iPhone and Apple Dev Fee.
I know Apple products cost more outside the US, so I was wondering if this might be an easier route to get my foot in the door. I don't need a new computer. Buying an M1 would sting especially being without a job right now but I'm willing to do it if I can gain an edge landing a job.
Thanks!
